DISASTER PREPAREDNESS / LIFE SAFETY
The Greater Los Angeles area is considered a high-risk region for disasters and emergencies such as earthquakes and wildfires. These events can happen suddenly and without warning. While they may be unpredictable, important steps can be taken now to prepare and reduce the risk of injury or damage. Disaster preparedness is everyone’s responsibility. We encourage families to talk together and create a simple and clear plan for how to respond if an emergency happens.
The County of Los Angeles has created a user-friendly Emergency Survival Guide, available in fifteen languages, to help you get started. You can download the guide using the buttons below. There are also short videos, available in English and Spanish, that explain how to build an effective emergency kit.
